While it doesn’t replace the need for a PTFE non-stick cover sheet, many heat press operators find it invaluable – Direct-to-garment (DTG) and sublimation printers consider it an essential tool to protect their heat press from steam and chemical build-up.
To keep the platen covers clean, simply wipe them with a damp cloth to remove any residue or buildup on the surface.
We also supply a range of non-stick lower platen protectors are a non-stick fitted cover that fits snugly over the lower platen (similar to an ironing board cover) of both the Stahls and Hotronix range of heat presses, and are specifically designed to reduce wear and tear on the silicone mat on the lower platen and prevents excess inks, dyes and adhesives from penetrating into the silicon, in addition to making it easier to slide garments on and off the lower platen. They are very easy to clean and are essential to prolonging the life of the heat press bed.
